continuation of another day

plus tuesday when i was scrubbing and such, i kept telling the dogs they were staying outside until the floors were clean, missy and hammer both will paw at the door. so i ignored it until our neighbor came to the door and said the gate was open and hammer was still in but missy was gone. so i went flying out the door walking in the 2 cul de sacs for her and yelling and no missy. bruce was roaming the neighborhood also and didn't see her anywhere. i came home and got the truck and went to the north of us and didn't see her and i had a feeling she was closer to home, (everyone in the neighborhood is familiar with missy and hammer) so i was just crossing our street and heading south on NW 4th street and she was crossing the road heading to a field and i yelled and she stopped and then she heard me and came running to the truck. i practically pulled her in the truck, once i had a hold of the collar, i wasn't letting go. she rode shotgun with me home, i had called bruce and told him i had her. everytime that gate is left open, she's out of here. hammer, on the other hand, knows a good thing when he sees it and he's not budging. she was thirsty, who knows how long she had been running, her tongue was hanging out about a mile. i put her in her dog condo for the afternoon. she scared the you know what out of me. i was the one that can't lock the gate and i mowed saturday and just kind of put the latch over the rail and i told bruce it wasn't locked but we both forgot it as we went fishing and didn't give it a thought. i am so glad i found her. God bless, treasa
